The 2019 EESA National Council election will operate in accordance with the recently updated. As part of the constitution update, there have been changes to the make-up of the National Council and eligibility of EESA members to hold office on the National Council and vote in the National Council election. Also, a new National Council position for a person under the age of 35 years old has been created. It is called Young Professional Member and the position is to be appointed by the National Council. The EESA National Council has the responsibility for the direction and management of the affairs of the Electric Energy Society of Australia, either via is own actions or through sub-committees, and shall do all such acts for the purpose of carrying into effect the objects of the society, subject to the provisions of the EESA Constitution. All EESA members, except holders of free student membership, are eligible to hold office on the 2020 EESA National Council, provided they have held at least two years of continuous membership (up until the date that nominations close). Holders of free student membership are not eligible to nominate or be nominated for National Council positions.
