2019 EESA NATIONAL COUNCIL ELECTION

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

The Electric Energy Society of Australia is now calling for nominations to fill:

• Three elected positions as Member of the EESA National Council
• One appointed position as Young Professional Member of the EESA National Council
• One appointed position as Honorary Treasurer of the EESA National Council

WHAT'S DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS ELECTION?

The 2019 EESA National Council election will operate in accordance with the recently updated. As part of the constitution update, there have been changes to the make-up of the National Council and eligibility of EESA members to hold office on the National Council and vote in the National Council election. Also, a new National Council position for a person under the age of 35 years old has been created. It is called Young Professional Member and the position is to be appointed by the National Council. ELECTION DATES

• 10 October 2019: Nominations for all positions open
• 31 October 2019: Nominations for positions of MEMBER close at 11:59 pm AEDT
• 4 November 2019: Voting for positions of MEMBER open
• 10 November 2019: Voting for positions of MEMBER close at 11:59 pm AEDT
• 11 November 2019: Election result determined
• 11 November 2019: Nominations for positions of HONORARY TREASURER and YOUNG PROFESSIONAL MEMBER close at 11:59 pm AEDT
• After 12 November 2019: Election result announced
• At the time of the first meeting of the new National Council: Positions of HONORARY TREASURER and YOUNG PROFESSIONAL MEMBER will be appointed

Complete the online nomination form for the position that you wish to be considered for:

• Member of the EESA National Council
• Young Professional Member of the EESA National Council
• Honorary Treasurer of the EESA National Council

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE NATIONAL COUNCIL

The EESA National Council has the responsibility for the direction and management of the affairs of the Electric Energy Society of Australia, either via is own actions or through sub-committees, and shall do all such acts for the purpose of carrying into effect the objects of the society, subject to the provisions of the EESA Constitution. WHO IS ELIGIBLE HOLD OFFICE ON THE 2020 EESA NATIONAL COUNCIL?

All EESA members, except holders of free student membership, are eligible to hold office on the 2020 EESA National Council, provided they have held at least two years of continuous membership (up until the date that nominations close). Holders of free student membership are not eligible to nominate or be nominated for National Council positions.
