Case Study: Household Demand Management System

Case Study: Household Demand Management System

Peter Edwards is a retired power utility planning engineer. On the premise that market prices should be the sole and sufficient driver for electricity management projects, Peter embarked on such a project buying electricity wholesale through an interval meter.

In this webinar Peter will describe how he manages energy usage at his Adelaide home taking advantage of wholesale power price opportunities and the thermal storage readily available in the home.

The webinar will cover how:

  • Domestic Customers can readily make worthwhile savings through buying their electricity wholesale.
  • There is a lot more potential for price-response from domestic demand than has been traditionally assumed.
  • Making the demand side more price-responsive is comparable in effect to making the generation side more controllable.
