Through the presentation of a real case we will shed some light on the use of monitoring systems for the detection and localization of partial discharges (PDs) on HV accessories. The aim is to highlight the efficiency and reliability of monitoring systems for the acquisition of critical partial discharge activities.
Antonino Madonia was born in 1985 in Italy. He received the master’s degree in electrical engineering from University of Palermo Italy in 2014. In 2015 he joined the Department of Energy Engineering and Mathematical Models (DEIM) of the University of Palermo as a Ph.D. student. In 2018 he received his Ph.D. degree in energy and information technologies and he joined Prysmian. Since April 2018 he has been in charge of the Diagnostic Service in Prysmian Electronics. His main activities are Partial Discharges measurements and analysis in electrical MV HV and EHV cable circuits. His research interests are focus on high voltage systems partial discharges in AC and DC voltage and HV test and measuring techniques.
