EESA is pleased to present Taryn Lane, General Manager of Hepburn Wind. Hepburn Wind is the owner and operator of Australia’s first community-owned wind farm, at Leonards Hill, about 100km north-west of Melbourne. The 4.1 MW wind farm hosts two turbines, which produce enough clean energy for over 2000 homes. The 2013 member community co-operative is in late planning to co-locate a solar farm and battery storage facility. Taryn Lane is excited to share her experience, including technical and community challenges as well as a vision for the future. Please join us in welcoming our presenters and learning from their exciting journey in locally sourced clean energy.
Taryn is the General Manager of Hepburn Wind, Australia's first community-owned wind farm operating since 2011. She is also co-ordinator of Hepburn Z-NET,
her communities’ program to reach zero-net emissions by 2030 and a Founding Director of the Australian Wind Alliance and the Coalition for Community
Energy and a 2017 Winston Churchill Fellow. She also works privately as a consultant undertaking policy development, research, and advisory services.
