EECON 2023 PRIZE
Submissions for the EESA National Photo Competition are closed.
ABOUT THIS PRIZE
The Electric Energy Society of Australia has developed a new competition that encourages engineers to record striking or educational photographs related to electric energy to be included in a new archive on the EESA website. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend the National Conference – EECON 2023 in Melbourne on 15-16 November and will be required to create a photographic record of the conference to be used in future promotional material.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The applicant must:
- Be an individual EESA member.
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
- Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a field related to power engineering.
- Be currently employed in the power engineering industry.
THE APPLICATION
The application must:
- Consist of a photograph, maximum size 5Mb, jpg format.
- Include a short, written account of why you consider that the image submitted is worthy of being placed on the record.
- Include a description of the camera to be used at EECON (see below).
- The photograph must represent an aspect of the conference theme:
EECON 2023 theme: Leading the Energy Transition the Australian Way - Powering up with Resilience.

THE PRIZE
The winner will receive:
- Paid travel, accommodation, and registration to attend EECON 2023. The winners will be asked to provide at least ten photographs taken at the Conference.
- A spotlight article on the EESA website and in the EESA bulletin.
The prizewinning photograph will be featured prominently on the EESA website.
All photographs submitted in this competition will be placed on the EESA website archive with the requested commentary and the name of the submitter.
